Preparing for Payday Super

Hi there,

From 1 July 2026, new Payday Super legislation requires that superannuation for Australian-based employees is paid at the same time as wages and salaries.

The necessary compliance versions to support these changes in MYOB Acumatica Payroll are 2025.1.502 or 2025.2.202. If you are not on one of these versions and have not yet been advised of your upgrade, please reach out to our support team.

To ensure your super payments are correct, you will need to manually review all your pay items and ensure they are correctly flagged as Liable for Qualifying Earnings (QE) and/or Liable for Superannuation (SG) as per ATO guidelines. This needs to be done after your last pay run prior to the 1st of July, but before your next one.

While the ATO has advised that its enforcement focus will be on employers who make no genuine attempt to comply, you may still be liable for penalties if you fail to pay superannuation in full, on time, and to the correct fund. 

Please note that you are responsible for making sure that your system is setup correctly. Although MYOB Acumatica Payroll is automatically updated with the new tax rates and thresholds for the 2026-27 Financial Year, we recommend you review all your pay items for QE and SG liability before your first pay run in the new financial year.
